A Trip to the Beauty Shop

September 20, 2008

Everyone loves Friday. Especially when it’s time for a makeover. (Click to enlarge.)

This was Mariah’s first trip off the ward for non-medical purposes. Thanks to the docs and nurses who made this treat possible. And to Mini and Vanessa for adding makeup, a manicure, a pedicure and loads of heartfelt caring for the last ten days. You guys are pure sunshine. We love you.

The plan is to return to McGuire VA MC in Richmond next Tuesday. Please pray for a smooth transition.

It’s amazing what a new do and a little paint can do for a gal’s morale. I have Chai and Zoe here with me today. Suzanna went down to Florida with her mom to see Grandma. Fitz is off roading with his dad. I’m home minding the store and sewing; so the girl’s are here keeping me company. They both got a brushing and we’ll go for a walk later.
Hope things go really well Tuesday and Mariah continues to make excellent progress.

    Dear Mariah,
You are looking good! It really feels great to have someone wash and fix your hair, doesn’t it? What a difference it makes. P.S. Thanks for the birthday wishes. I had a great birthday.
I are praying for you. Folks in church every week ask me how you are doing. My small Bible study group are parying, too. There are an awful lot of people witnessing your progress. Thanks for being such a wonderful inspiration.
    I love you, Mariah.
    God bless,

    Mariah,
You are a beautiful person. I’ve thought so from the first time I saw your pictures, and your Dad’s beauty parlor expedition photos reveal it even more. I hope you enjoy your beauty rejuvenation, and make a smooth return to Richmond to continue with your progress. We at the UUA, who so love your Dad — and, through his wonderful sharing of these last months, you — are continuing to not only cheer, but send love, prayers, and healing thoughts in your direction. Go well, and safely.

    In faith,
    Deb Weiner

    Hi Mariah,

It’s nice to hear that you’re coming back to Richmond. It’s autumn now and the leaves will be more beautiful than ever. I can’t wait to read about your progress on the blog.

    Love,
    Cousin Wayne

    Mariah,

I continue to send love and prayers your way every day. You were in my dreams again last night. I was watching a home-movie of you dancing. It was beautiful.

    Love,
    Sadie
